The method for packaging problem-based case studies was originally as html web pages.  In the early 2000's, 'Flash' was introduced to enable the cases to be installed on the student's PC.  Examples of these can be found here.

In 2005 LIU sponsored a research and development exercise to investigate ways in which case studies might be made more interactive when distributed using 'Flash'.  An example of the initial prototype can be found here.
